Whilst driving from the west coast of Barbados to the east, we stopped to visit Hunte’s Gardens, which is described as “The most enchanting place on earth”. I always take such grand claims with a pinch of salt, but they are certainly beautiful and tranquil with a variety of benches and chairs dotted around where you can sit, relax, and listen to the birdsong. I’ve never been anywhere where I saw so many plants that I’ve never come across before. The man who has created the gardens (Anthony Hunte) certainly had a vision, as they are mostly inside a sink hole, making it a unique experience. Here are just some of the plants and flowers I photographed there.
