Mondays are market day in the nearest town which is a 30 minute drive away. We had asked if we could join the vehicles going to get provisions, so we spent an hour wandering round. This is definitely not a tourist place! I took the photo of the car as it amused me to see that somebody was having a snooze in it. Nobody else noticed !
I wonder if the hotel has air con and en-suites?

We also visited a women’s project that has been set up to enable them to earn some money. There are approximately 400 women who make beaded jewellery – bracelets, earrings, belts, necklaces and even dog collars. I watched one of the women for a while, and the ankle bracelet she was making was going to take two days and sell for $8. I don’t know how much of that she would receive either 🙁
On the way back we had to call at another small town as a tyre needed replacing on one of the vehicles. We had a wander round, and the litter, filth, smells, goats & donkeys are pretty typical of rural African towns.
I love this – a Masai dressed in traditional clothes with his knife in his belt, driving a motorbike. Check out the butchery in the background too 🙂
